Daystar Partners in Action

Letter from Marcus: July 2010

Dear Partner and Friend,

While I am writing this letter to you, Joni and I are in Jamaica performing a wedding. It is so beautiful here! The bus driver who picked us up from the Airport is a Daystar viewer.

A lot of exciting things are happening during the month of July.

  • 1) My Sweetheart, Joni, is having a birthday this month on July 19th. (She’s not getting older, she’s just getting better!)
  • 2) Daystar will once again make history by becoming the fi rst Christian Television Network to launch in New Zealand. This will take place on July 1st on Sky TV in New Zealand. Daystar will be on channel 112. New Zealand is where the movie, Lord of the Rings, was filmed.
  • 3) Joni and I and the Daystar Singers are going back to Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas to minister for our close friends, Pastors Joel and Victoria Osteen. (That will be on July 14th, and we will show it LIVE from 7:00pm CT – 9:00pm CT.) If you can, come and visit Lakewood in person because you will love it!
    • Our baby, Miss Rebecca who is 18, just graduated from High School. (I was honored to speak at the graduation.) Rebecca will be going off to Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. So, please pray for her. And pray for her Mom and Dad who will cry and will miss her!!!

Many ministries have a “Summer slump,” but Joni and I are believing for your Daystar to have a “Summer jump!” If all our Partners will be faithful to God with their Sharathon pledges, and if some will give an extra one-time gift, then we can indeed have a “Summer jump!”

Thank you for what you have already done. And thank you in advance for what you are going to do. “Partners make it possible” for Daystar to spread “All the Word to all the world!”

      Yours for Christian Television,
      Marcus Lamb
      Founder, President

Team Impact - Impacting the World

From breaking blocks of ice to snapping through planks of wood, the men of Team Impact have astounded audiences all over with their amazing feats of strength and their incredible testimonies.

The blending of their athleticism and their faith has proven time and again to be a potent combination for spreading the Gospel, and recently the guys of Team Impact took their presentation of power and faith overseas to the country of India – thanks to the sponsorship of Daystar and Partners just like you.

Team Impact members Berry Handley, Randall Harris and Ron Waterman traveled to the city of Ranchi, India, to participate in a three night crusade that ministered to crowds of up to 30,000 people.

While in India, the guys also took their presentation into schools and orphanages in remote villages, sharing how God changed their lives and performing some feats of strength for the kids.

Because of your help, Team Impact and the ministry team in Ranchi saw 8,000 decisions for Christ. Thank you, Partners! Together we are Impacting the World for God.

Surrender All: July 2010

On the Fourth of July, each and every year, the United States celebrates independence, liberty, and freedom. Three words that many hear but few understand. Three words that many declare but few truly experience. People question how such freedom and liberty is possible when they themselves struggle with the many cares of this world. More today feel like prisoners than the more than conquerors Christ declares them to be. The chains of worry, doubt, guilt, shame and fear hang heavy on the hearts of many. The financial, emotional, physical and, yes, spiritual struggles are more than they can bear.

As Scripture states, if you were to look to the natural world, the heart of humanity would fail because of fear. The looming threats of terrorism, earthquakes, oil spills, economic and natural disasters, and even the possibility of world war are broadcast daily. How can you find peace, independence and freedom in this? The answer is: you cannot. The world will offer you many things, but to set you at Liberty it will not.

When Paul and Silas were beaten and cast into prison, they did not look to the chains or bars holding them. They did not look to their wounds and cry. They were prisoners, that much was true. They were hurt and trapped by their circumstances indeed. However, they did not look to the world for answers; they looked to God. With their hands and feet cast firmly in the stocks, Paul and Silas began to pray and sing praises to God. The louder they sang, the more prisoners surrounding them heard; the more they heard, the more they believed, and the more that believed were soon set free. A great earthquake came, the foundation of prison was shaken, and immediately the doors were opened and everyone’s bands were loosed. The one-time prisoners were now free. Their prayers and praise set them all at Liberty.

You see, whatever foundation your personal prison is built upon, whether it is insecurity, fear, anger, depression, worry or doubt, when you pray and sing praises to God not only will Christ set you at liberty, but also your faith will help those around you do the same. So, do not look to the chains of this world. Do not focus on your debt, sickness or hard times. Look to your Father in heaven who knows exactly what you need and when you need it.

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. (Luke 12:27)

True freedom is not having an easy life. Jesus said we will have tribulation in this world. No, true freedom is knowing Christ overcame this world and promised us, with faith, we shall do the same. True freedom is knowing God is in control. True freedom is the ability to rejoice and learn from every test and trial until you are delivered from it. True freedom is allowing nothing and no one to stand in your way, because greater He that is in you than he that is in this world. So don’t worry about tomorrow, what it may bring, don’t focus on everything that seems to be wrong in your life and in the world. Pray and sing praises to God, as Paul and Silas did, and watch Christ deliver you and those around you from it all.
